Castella Wins Her First Indie Soul Award

Nominated in two categories - The Hustle and Grind Award and Jazz Vocal Single/Artist of the Year, Castella walked home with the coveted Jazz Vocal Single of the Year for her tune I Saw You feat. Marqueal Jordan. I Saw You was written by Castella along with producer David P. Stevens. David wrote the music, especially for Castella with her style and vibe in mind. It became a huge hit and hit #1 on many charts in 2023. Fellow artists included in the Jazz Vocal Single of the Year category included Lindsey Webster, Hank Bilal, Jeffrey Dennis, Kathy Kosins, Dee Lucas and Aston Grey Project. This time, Castella walked away with the well deserved honor.

Castella was also nominated in The Hustle and Grind Award category which recognized artist for their hard work and presence on Social Media. Singer Bey Bright walked away with the prize, however, Castella was honored with the nomination. Congratulations to Bey Bright!

The Indie Soul Awards presented by Soul Cafe Radio and NorthStar Radio group, is in the 6th year of the awards and coins this as the “Grammys” for independent artists. Castella was previously nominated for Newcomer of the Year in 2021. Castella says “To win this award for my work means so much to me! I am grateful for my team, David and Marqueal for believing in me! I can’t wait to place this on my shelf!”
